INTRODUCTION
This article describes the Office 2003 issues that are fixed in the Office 2003 post-Service Pack 1 hotfix package that is dated December 14, 2004.

This hotfix package fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
- If you print a page that contains a Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) image, the image may print incorrectly. For example, the top part of the image may print at the bottom of the image.
This issue occurs if the following conditions are true:- You print the JPEG image on A4-sized paper.
- The resolution of the JPEG image is 600 dpi. For example, an image that is 3,416 pixels wide by 2,392 pixels high is 8.2 megapixels.
- You print the JPEG image to a color PostScript printer.
- If you print or preview a page that contains a monochrome bitmap image (.bmp) that includes a front color and a back color, the back color or layer of the image may appear rotated.

This problem was first corrected in Office 2003 Service Pack 2.

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Office 2003 service pack that contains this hotfix.

- The optimized version of this hotfix is a post-Office 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) hotfix. To install the hotfix, you must have Office 2003 SP1 installed. For additional information about Office 2003 SP1, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

- The full-file version of this hotfix is also the administrative version of this hotfix. You can install this version of the hotfix on a computer that is running Office 2003 with Office 2003 SP1 installed or on a computer that is running Office 2003 without Office 2003 SP1 installed.
However, we have tested this hotfix more extensively on a computer that is running Office 2003 with Office 2003 SP1 installed than we have on a computer that is running Office 2003 without Office 2003 SP1 installed. If you install this hotfix on a computer that is running Office 2003 without Office 2003 SP1 installed, some file conflicts may occur. We support this configuration, but we do not recommend it.
