SYMPTOMS
When you use Device Manager in Microsoft Windows XP to see the capacity of your tape drive media, Device Manager reports incorrect numbers for available bytes and for total bytes.CAUSE
This problem occurs because of a code defect in the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) code that is used to display the capacity data in Device Manager. The problem only affects certain tape drives. The problem only occurs when you use Device Manager in Windows XP.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
