You receive a "Your invitation to start web cam could not be sent" error message when you try to start a webcam connection in MSN Messenger (890962)

SYMPTOMSWhen you try to start a webcam connection in MSN Messenger by clicking Webcam in a Conversation window, you receive the following error message: Your invitation to start web cam could not be sent because the user is using a version of Messenger that does not support this feature. CAUSEThis issue may occur when you try to start a webcam connection that is using Microsoft Windows Messenger. Windows Messenger does not support a webcam connection that is started from the Webcam button in an MSN Messenger Conversation window.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, use the Start Video Conference command on the Actions menu to start a webcam connection to a Windows Messenger user. To start the connection, take the following steps: - In MSN Messenger, double-click the user who you want to connect to.
- In the Conversation window, click Actions on the menu bar.
- Click Start Video Conference.
