SYMPTOMS

When you try to download and then import an Open Financial Connectivity (OFC) statement from your financial institution, into Money 2005 or later versions, the import of the .ofc file fails.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because Microsoft Money 2005 and later versions do not support importing files that use the OFC file format. Only Quicken Interchange Format (QIF) and Open Financial Exchange (OFX) file formats are supported.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, when you download your statement from the Web site for your financial institution, select the option to download the statement in QIF or OFX file format if the option is available.

MORE INFORMATION

The OFC format was replaced by the OFX format in 1997. The OFC format is supported by versions of Microsoft Money up to and including Microsoft Money 2004. For more information about the OFX format, visit the following OFX Web site: Microsoft provides third-party contact information to help you find technical support.
