The Inetinfo.exe process may cause an access violation when you have a large SSL post request on a computer that is running Application Center (890350)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Application Center 2000

SYMPTOMS

The Inetinfo.exe process may cause an access violation on computers that are running Microsoft Application Center 2000 when the following conditions are true:
  • The Request Forwarding feature is enabled.
  • There are large Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) post requests.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Request Forwarding feature contains a hard coded limit of 32,768 bytes for an SSL-encoded message from the client. Large posts can exceed the 32,768 byte limit, and the host Inetinfo.exe may cause an access violation.
