Works: Document Icon Position Not Remembered (89754)

SUMMARY

In Microsoft Works for Windows, if a workspace is saved with one or more documents minimized in specific locations, the icon locations revert to the lower-left corner of the screen the next time you minimize the documents.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. Open two or three documents in Works for Windows.
  2. Minimize all the documents, then move the icons to locations other than the default positions.
  3. From the File menu, choose Save Workspace.
  4. From the File menu, choose Exit Works. Restart Works. (When you restart Works, the documents flash briefly on the screen before becoming icons in the positions established in step 2.)
  5. Restore one of the documents from its icon and then minimize it again. (The icon appears at the lower-left corner of the window, rather than the position established in step 2.)
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in version 2.0 of Works for Windows. This problem has been corrected in Works for Windows 2.0a.
