A media file may play in the background of an alarm on a Pocket PC device that is running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition (889759)

SYMPTOMS

On a Pocket PC device that is running Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition, you set an alarm while you are playing a media file in Microsoft Windows Media Player for Pocket PC. If the device is turned off while the media file is playing, when the device alarm sounds, the media file will play in the background.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, turn off Windows Media Player before you turn off the device. This lets the alarm function as you intended.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
