An incorrect version of the Smtpsvc.dll file is used when you include the SMTP Server component in a Windows XP Embedded Target Designer configuration to build a run-time image (889758)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows XP Embedded SP1
SYMPTOMSWhen you include the SMTP Server component
in a Windows XP Embedded Target Designer configuration to build a Microsoft Windows XP
Embedded Service Pack 1 (SP1) run-time image, an incorrect version of the Smtpsvc.dll file is used.
The correct version is 5.1.2600.1106, but the version that is used is 5.1.2600.CAUSEThe SMTP Server component in the component database references the original released version of the Smtpsvc.dll file, even though
the newer version of the Smtpsvc.dll file is included with the Windows XP Embedded
SP1 repository.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, replace the Smptsvc.dll
file in your image with the 6.0.2600.1106 version of the Smtpsvc.dll file that is located
in the Windows XP Embedded SP1 repository after the image build is
complete.STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft
products that are listed in the "Applies to"
section.REFERENCESFor more information about how to design a run-time image, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
