When you view a calendar in Outlook, the free or busy information may not appear (889698)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office Outlook Connector
- Microsoft Outlook 2002
- Microsoft Office Outlook 2003
- Microsoft Office Outlook Live
- MSN Premium
SYMPTOMSThe free or busy information that generally appears when a meeting recipient has granted you permission to view their calendar in Microsoft Office Outlook may not appear.
This behavior occurs when the following conditions are true:
- You try to schedule a meeting by using your Microsoft MSN Hotmail account contact list that includes MSN Hotmail users.
- You try to use the Scheduling tab in Microsoft Office Outlook to set up your meeting.
CAUSEThis behavior occurs the first time that you click the Scheduling tab. Contact with the server or with the local network may be delayed. Therefore, we recommend that you try to view the information again after you wait for several minutes.
Additionally, this behavior may occur if you do not have sufficient permission to view the free or busy information.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, quit Outlook. Then, wait for several minutes, restart Outlook, and then try to view the free or busy information.
If you still cannot view the MSN Hotmail user information, contact the owner of that account to verify that you have full permission to view their calendar.
