You receive a "Your beta software has expired" error message when you try to start OneNote 2003 (889115)

RESOLUTION

If you have installed OneNote 2003 SP1 Preview, you will have to completely remove OneNote 2003 SP1 Preview from the computer, install the original version, and then install the Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 Service Pack 1 update. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Remove OneNote 2003 SP1 Preview. To do this, follow these steps.
   
   Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.
   1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.
   2. In the Currently installed programs list, click Microsoft Office OneNote 2003, and then click Remove.
   3. Click Yes when you are prompted to remove Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 from your computer.
2. Install OneNote 2003 from your original OneNote 2003 product CD-ROM. To do this, use one of the following methods:
   • If you removed OneNote 2003 from your computer to install OneNote 2003 SP1 Preview and your copy of OneNote 2003 was preinstalled on your computer, you can reinstall OneNote 2003 from the recovery CD or from the media that came with your computer. Follow the instructions on your recovery CD or on your media to reinstall OneNote 2003.
   • If you removed OneNote 2003 from your computer to install OneNote 2003 SP1 Preview and you have either lost or misplaced your OneNote product CD, you must contact Microsoft Help and Support and provide proof of purchase to obtain another product CD. 3. Install OneNote 2003 SP1.
