A disc is not created correctly when you create another disc by using the same files in Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (889106)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Create CD/DVD Wizard in Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 to create a disc, and then you select the option to create another disc by using the same files, you find that the second copy of the disc is not created correctly.

Note The first copy of the disc is created correctly.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the disc contains any folders. The problem does not occur if you select the option to create another disc by using the same files and the first disc does not contain folders.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, click No when you receive the following message: You have successfully written your files to the Disc. Do you want to create another disc using the same files? To create another disc by using the same files, restart the Create CD/DVD wizard to create another disc.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
