Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. WORKAROUNDWarning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk. To work around this problem, add a new registry key that is named STAThreadPool. To add the registry key, follow these steps: - Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
- Locate and then click the following subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\COM3 - To create the STAThreadPool key, point to New on the Edit menu, and then click Key.
- Type STAThreadPool, and then press ENTER.
- Point to New on the Edit menu, and then click DWORD value.
- Type EmulateMTSBehavior, and then press ENTER.
- Right-click EmulateMTSBehavior, and then click Modify.
- In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, type the value 0, and then click OK.
- On the File menu, click Exit.
