INTRODUCTION

There is an error in the March 2004 product documentation for Microsoft Solutions for Windows-based Hosting, including Hosted Exchange 2003. The product documentation incorrectly states the Microsoft Knowledge Base article number of one of the required hotfixes.

The product documentation states that the hotfix that is mentioned in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 836082 is a required hotfix for all computers in the environment that are running Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. This error occurs in the following sections of Volume 7, Deploying Hosted Exchange 2003:
  • 7.2.30 - Installing Required Patch on Back-end Exchange Servers
  • 7.3.25 - Installing Required Patch on Front-end Exchange Servers
  • 7.6.70 - Installing Required Patch on Back-end Exchange Servers
The correct hotfix that is required is the hotfix that is mentioned in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 834315. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

The next release of Hosted Exchange requires Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1). This hotfix is included in Exchange Server 2003 SP1.
