The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
SYMPTOMS
When you first open the Program Guide in Microsoft Windows XP Media Center 2005, and you use the forward or back arrows on the remote control or on the keyboard to quickly scan the Program Guide, you may receive the following message:
Tip: Jump 12 Hours
Press SKIP on the remote to jump ahead 12 hours in the Guide. Press REPLAY to jump back 12 hours.
This message may remain on the screen for up to 10 seconds before the Program Information display is shown for the selected program.
If you continue to quickly scan the Program Guide, the Program Information display for the next selected program may not display for up to 10 seconds. Instead, the Program Information display remains blank. After the delay, you receive the message again before program information is shown for the selected program.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue and to quickly scan the Program Guide without the delay that is caused by the Program Information display, use the following methods:
- Use the Fast Forward and Rewind buttons on the remote control to jump 3 hours forward and back in the Program Guide.
- Use the Skip and Replay buttons on the remote control to jump 12 hours forward and back in the Program Guide.
