SYMPTOMS

When a Web-aware COM program such as an ASP.NET program accesses a Microsoft Windows 2000 Server-based computer that is running the Active Directory directory service, you may receive the following error message:

835554 "Handling of this ADS value Type is not yet implemented" error when you run a Web-aware COM application

The hotfix that is described in Knowledge Base article 835554 does not fix all the credential management problems that can occur in Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was corrected in Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 .
