FIX: You receive an error message when you try to run an application that uses the XMLHttp object together with a blank header after you install Windows XP SP2 (888100)

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You install Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2). You try to run an application that uses the XMLHttp object together with a blank header. In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
invalid procedure call or argument

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft XML 3.0 service pack that contains this hotfix.
