You receive a 0x0000008E Stop error message when you cancel a print job in Windows XP (887589)

SYMPTOMS

You are using a computer that is running either Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition or Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition, and you print a document. If you click Cancel in the Printing dialog box, you may receive a 0x0000008E Stop error message.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article.
