SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You pause a video that is playing in full-screen mode in Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. When you minimize or resize the window from full-screen mode, the video may start playing again. Also, when a screensaver starts after you pause a video, the video may start playing again. This problem occurs only when you play videos from the My Videos folder. The problem does not occur when you play DVD movies, Live TV, or Recorded TV.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use one or both of the following methods:
  • Deactivate the screensaver.
  • Exit the full-screen mode before you pause the video. In a smaller window, pause the video, and then minimize the window.
