SYMPTOMSYou use the Import wizard to import pictures from an external media source, such as a digital camera or a USB flash drive, to the Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 photo library. Some of your files are not imported. You do not receive an error message to notify you that not all files were imported.CAUSE
This problem may occur if the destination path or the file name, or a combination of both, contain more than 255 characters. For example, this problem may occur if the destination folder for your imported photos is nested below many subfolders, and the combined total number of characters in the nested path and the file name is more than 255.WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, do not use very long names for files or folders. Additionally, do not use many levels of nested folders as the destination folder when you import pictures.STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
