SYMPTOMS
When you change the TV signal configuration from two set-top boxes to two analog cable TV inputs on a Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005-based computer that has two TV tuners, one tuner is detected instead of two. RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
- Restart the computer.
Note If you are using a USB TV tuner for Media Center, turn off the USB TV tuner before you restart the computer. After the computer has restarted, turn on the USB TV tuner again.
You may have to try this more than one time to correctly detect the second tuner. When the tuner is detected, follow the steps in the TV Signal Wizard to install the tuner.
- If the problem still occurs, manually add the second analog cable TV input. To do this, follow these steps:
- Press START on the remote, and then select Settings.
- Select TV, and then select Setup TV Signal.
- In the Set up your TV signal window, select Next.
- In the TV Signal window, select your region. For example, select United States.
- In Automatic TV Signal Setup window, select I will manually configure my TV signal, and then select Next.
- In the What type of TV signal do you receive window, select the appropriate technology. For example, select Cable or digital cable, Satellite, or Antenna.
- Follow the remaining steps in the TV Signal Wizard to complete the installation.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
