Error 633 occurs when you try to create a dial-up connection using a Bluetooth mobile phone in Windows XP Service Pack 2 (886929)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), when you try to create a dial-up connection by using a Bluetooth mobile phone that is connected to your computer's Bluetooth interface, you may receive the following error message:
Opening port...
Error 633: The modem (or other connecting device) is already in use or is not configured properly.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the power for your computer's Bluetooth interface is turned off while a dial-up connection is open. When the power for your computer's Bluetooth interface is turned on again, and you try to create another dial-up connection by using a Bluetooth mobile phone, you may receive the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, try to connect again. If you still cannot connect, restart the computer, and then try to connect again.
