You cannot capture video by using the RGB 555 (16bit) setting in Windows Movie Maker on a Windows XP-based computer (886847)

SYMPTOMS
When you try to capture video by using the RGB 555 (16bit) setting in Microsoft Windows Movie Maker on a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer, you may experience either of the following symptoms:
CAUSE
This problem may occur if you click the RGB 555 (16bit) setting in the Color Space/Compression box in the Video Settings dialog box.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use a different Color Space/Compression setting in the Video Settings dialog box. To do this, follow these steps:
- In Windows Movie Maker, click Capture from video device.
- Select the video device that you are using, and then click Configure.
- Click Video Settings.
- In the Color Space/Compression box, click a setting other than RGB 555 (16bit).
- Click OK, and then click Close.
- Complete the remaining steps in the Video Capture Wizard.
