No warning message occurs when you put your computer on standby during TV recording in Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (886841)

SYMPTOMS

If you put your Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005-based computer on standby while you are recording a TV program, you do not receive a warning message that the TV program will not be recorded.

CAUSE

This behavior will occur if you previously tried to put your computer on standby while you recorded a TV program, and then you clicked Cancel when the following message appeared:

Media Center is currently recording:
My TV Show on channel Channel number
If you put your computer on Standby, recording will stop.

If you try to put the computer on standby again after you click Cancel, and you are still recording the same TV program, you will not receive a second warning message. Instead, the recording will stop, and the computer will go on standby.
