FM radio Seek function stops when you select the + or - Seek buttons again in Media Center Edition 2005 (886840)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005

SYMPTOMS

You are using the FM radio Seek function in Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, and you select either the + or the - Seek button on the screen. If you reselect either of the Seek buttons before the Seek function has located a radio station, the previous, or original, radio station is selected.

CAUSE

The Seek function automatically scans the frequency bandwidth for radio stations. When you select either of the Seek buttons when the Seek function is in progress, Media Center selects the previous radio station. This behavior differs from the behavior of some other consumer electronics products. With some products, if you select the Seek function while a previous Seek function is in progress, the Seek function just stops on the current frequency or on the nearest strong signal. (The Seek function may stop on the current frequency even though a radio station may not have been found.)
