FIX: The Host Print Service in Host Integration Server may not correctly print when you have configured the service for languages that are printed right to left (886715)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004

SYMPTOMS

The Host Print Service may not correctly print when you have configured the service for languages that are printed right to left, such as Arabic or Hebrew. Although the characters in a word may be correctly reversed to appear right to left, the words appear left to right.

Note Languages that are printed right to left use EBCDIC code pages. For example, Arabic uses the EBCDIC code page Arabic 20240. Hebrew uses the EBCDIC code page Hebrew 20420.

CAUSE

The Host Print Service does not print the whole line of text. The service only prints word by word.
