The sound scheme is set to No Sounds, but some event sounds occur after you install Windows XP Service Pack 2 (886691)

SYMPTOMSAfter you install Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 on a Microsoft Windows XP Professional-based computer that has the sound scheme set to No Sounds, the following program events are turned on, and you hear a sound when the events occur: - Blocked Pop-up Window
- Information Bar
WORKAROUNDTo work around this issue, follow these steps: - Click Start, click Run, type mmsys.cpl, and then click OK.
- On the Sounds tab, follow these steps:
- Under Program events, click Blocked Pop-up Window.
- In the Sounds list, click (None).
- Under Program events, click Information Bar.
- In the Sounds list, click (None).
- Click OK to close the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties dialog box.
