The Handle Count value for the Winlogon.exe process may increase by one in Windows Task Manager every time that you resume your Windows XP-based computer or your Windows 2000-based computer from standby (886650)

SYMPTOMS

Every time that you resume your computer from standby, the Handle Count value for the Winlogon.exe process may increase by one in Microsoft Windows Task Manager.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

MORE INFORMATION

To see the Handle Count column in Windows Task Manager, click Select Columns on the View menu, and then click to select the Handle Count check box.

This problem does not adversely affect the computer's performance or stability. You can safely ignore this problem.
