INTRODUCTIONA Microsoft Application Center 2000 feature clears the Register this connection's addresses in DNS check box. By default, Application Center 2000 configures the network adaptors that are used for Network Load Balancing (NLB) not to register themselves with the Domain Name System (DNS). This feature is used to reduce the chance that the cluster members will try to communicate with each other through an IP address that is bound to the load balanced network adaptors. Communication fails if the cluster members try to communicate with each other in this manner.
Sometimes, this feature can be disabled in Application Center 2000 without a problem. We do not recommend changing this setting. However, if you do want to disable this feature in Application Center 2000, you must make sure that the names of all the cluster nodes resolve to the IP addresses of their respective management network adaptors.
