Your CD or DVD drive does not work as expected after you remove Digital Image Suite 10 (886568)

SYMPTOMS

After you remove Microsoft Digital Image Suite 10, your CD or DVD drive may not work as expected.

Additionally, your CD or DVD drive may not appear in the My Computer folder or in Microsoft Windows Explorer after you remove Digital Image Suite 10.

CAUSE

This problem occurs after you remove Digital Image Suite 10 from your computer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type Regedit, and then click OK.
  2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

  3. In the right pane, right-click LowerFilters, and then click Delete.
  4. In the right pane, right-click UpperFilters, and then click Delete.
  5. On the File menu, click Exit.
  6. Restart your computer.
  7. Click Start, click Run, type Sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.
  8. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.
  9. Expand DVD/CD-ROM drives.
  10. Right-click each device under DVD/CD-ROM drives, and then click Uninstall.
  11. Click OK, and then restart your computer.
Note If you notice that any software, such as CD-ROM recording software, does not work as expected after you restart your computer, you may have to reinstall that software. If the problem occurs after you reinstall the software, contact the manufacturer of the software if you need help.
