You may receive an "Invalid column name" error message in the Event Log when you use SQLXML mapping schemas in BizTalk Server 2004 (886523)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, when you use SQLXML mapping schemas, you may receive an error message in the Event Log that is similar to the following:

CAUSE

This issue occurs because BizTalk Server 2004 does not support this SQLXML feature, even though we recommend it in the "Best Practices for Using the SQL Adapter" topic in the BizTalk Server 2004 documentation.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use the BizTalk Server 2004 mapping system. In the orchestration setup, create a BizTalk map between the input schema and a SQLXML updategram schema that does not reference any external mapping file.
