SYMPTOMS

When you open a Microsoft Word document (*.doc) in Microsoft Word 2002 from a USB floppy disk drive on a Microsoft Windows-based terminal (WBT) client and then save the changes to the document, the changes are not saved and you receive the following error message:
Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error.
After you close the error message, the document is changed to read-only.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you run Citrix MetaFrame on your network.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, do not open the Word document from the USB floppy disk drive on the Windows-based terminal (WBT) client. Instead, copy the file to a network location before you open the document in Word 2002. After you save your changes to the document, copy the document back to the USB floppy disk drive.
