The screen resolution options are limited in Virtual PC for Mac Version 7 (886377)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac Version 7
SYMPTOMSAfter you install the Virtual Machine Additions to a virtual
machine in Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac Version 7, you may only be able to
select the following screen resolutions on the
Settings tab in the Display Properties dialog
box:
- 640 by 480 pixels
- 800 by 600 pixels
- 1,024 by 768 pixels
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, you must remove and then reinstall
the Virtual Machine Additions. To do this, follow these steps:
- On the
PC menu, click Install or Update Additions.
- Click Remove.
Virtual PC for Mac Version 7 removes the
Virtual Machine Additions from the virtual machine. - Click Finish, and then click
Yes to restart the virtual machine.
- After the virtual machine restarts, click Install
or Update Additions on the PC menu.
- Click Next two times.
Virtual PC installs
the Virtual Machine Additions on the virtual machine. - Click Finish, and then click
Yes to restart the virtual machine.

has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
in the "Applies to" section.
