Clients do not send a status message when an advertised program is disabled in Systems Management Server 2003 (886122)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003
SYMPTOMSWhen you advertise a program to Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 clients and
then disable that program in the SMS 2003 Administrator console, the SMS clients do not send a status
message in response.
Additionally, you may find that the Message
ID of the last message for the advertisement is 10035 or 10037 and that the
Message Name of the last message is "Waiting for
content" or "Waiting for another program."
Note This behavior may also occur when you disable the Advertised
Programs Client Agent after you advertise a program.CAUSEWhen an SMS client receives an updated policy that indicates
that a program is disabled, it does not send a status message in response.
STATUS This
behavior is by design.
