The Advanced Client uses a management point to find a distribution point for an advertised program. When the Advanced Client roams, it is typically more efficient to download package source files from the site to which it has roamed than to download package source files from its assigned site.

If the Advanced Client requires package source files for an advertised program while it is roaming to another site, the Advanced Client tries to obtain those files from a local distribution point. This behavior prevents the Advanced Client from unnecessarily using slow or unreliable network links. Even though the Advanced Client is using a distribution point that is outside its assigned site, it is not assigned to that site.
