An advertisement for a program that uses the Software Updates Installation Agent does not run in Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003 (886082)

SYMPTOMSWhen you advertise a program that uses the Software Updates Installation Agent program (Patchinstall.exe), and you do not specify a recurrence pattern for the advertisement, the advertisement does not run on Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 client computers.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, follow these steps to specify a recurrence pattern for the advertisement: - Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Systems Management Server, and then click SMS Administrator Console.
- Expand Site Database (SiteCode - SiteName), and then click Advertisements.
- In the console tree, right-click the advertisement that you want to modify, and then click Properties.
- On the Schedule tab, click the new mandatory assignment button, and then click Schedule.
Note The new mandatory assignment button has a yellow star. - In the Schedule dialog box, click one of the following options in the Recurrence pattern area, and then accept or change the default recurrence schedule:
- Click OK three times.
