The "SMS Executive Thread States" performance object is not available when you run Performance Monitor on a remote Systems Management Server 2003 CAP or MP (886039)

SYMPTOMS

When you run Performance Monitor to view the performance counters of a Client Access Point (CAP) or of a Management Point (MP) on a remote computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, the SMS Executive Thread States performance object is not available. Therefore, you cannot monitor the processing threads of the Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 Executive components on the CAP or on the MP.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the performance counters for the SMS Executive components are not successfully registered on the CAP computer or on the MP computer.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
