Status reports show different results at different levels of the hierarchy in Systems Management Server 2003 (886004)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003
SYMPTOMSSome status reports show different
results at different levels of the SMS hierarchy. The status messages are not
consistent between the child sites and the parent sites.CAUSEThis behavior occurs because the "Replicate all SMS Client messages at low priority" status
filter rule makes SMS client messages replicate at a lower priority than other SMS data. This lower priority can delay status message replication. Therefore, the status
reports may be inaccurate and may show different results at different
levels of the hierarchy.WORKAROUNDTo work around this behavior, use either of the following methods.Method 1Disable the
"Replicate all SMS Client messages at low priority" status filter rule. For information about how
to disable a status filter rule, read the "Status Filter Rules Configuration Overview" section in Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 Administrator Help.Method 2Create a new status filter rule to replicate only the intended status messages
at medium priority and the rest of the status messages at low priority. For information about how
to create a status filter rule, read the "Status Filter Rules Configuration Overview" section in Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 Administrator Help.STATUS This
behavior is by design.
