Some file sizes may be reported as negative numbers when you view software inventory information in the Systems Management Server 2003 Administrator console (885995)

SYMPTOMS

When you view software inventory information by using Resource Explorer in the Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 Administrator console, some file sizes may be reported as negative numbers. For example, a 3-gigabyte (GB) file may be reported as -695,365,120.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you view software inventory information for files that are larger than 2-GB. For example, this problem may occur when you view software inventory information for Microsoft Exchange Server message store files.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
