Issues that are fixed in the hotfix package

The following issues are also fixed in this hotfix package but were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • When you search for Word 2003-compatible documents or files by using the Word 2003 Search feature, Word 2003 may stop responding or crash.

    This issue occurs if in the folder or file path that you are searching contains an HTML file that contains the following Meta tag:

    <META name=VI60_defaultClientScript content=VBScript>

  • When you save a Microsoft Word 2000 document by using Word 2003, the file size may increase enormously. This issue occurs if the Word 2000 document was saved with embedded fonts the first time that it was saved. When you use Word 2003 to save this document, Word 2003 will automatically embed any common system fonts that are used in this document.
  • When you press ENTER in a numbered list or in a bulleted list to create a new list item in a Word 2003 document, the text in the new list item is marked with tracked changes as inserted text. However, if the new list item is deleted, the text that is marked with tracked changes is not marked as deleted text.
