Video may momentarily stop or pause when you use other programs in Windows XP Service Pack 2 (885853)

SYMPTOMSWhen you watch a video on your Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2-based computer, you may find that the video momentarily stops or pauses when you use other programs on the computer.
For example, this issue may occur if you watch a video in Microsoft Windows Media Player on an attached TV set or on a second computer monitor while you minimize and maximize programs on the primary monitor.WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, turn off animated windows. To do this, follow these steps:
- Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Under Performance, click Settings.
- On the Visual Effects tab, clear the Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing check box.
- Click OK.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
