Records or activities in the search results are not filtered according to the criteria that you specify when you use the Advanced Find feature with a negative condition in Microsoft CRM 1.0 (885749)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Business Solutions CRM 1.0

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Advanced Find feature in Microsoft Business Solutions CRM 1.0 and specify a negative condition, you receive incorrect search results. That is, the records or activities that you receive in the search results are not filtered according to the criteria that you specify in the query.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:
  • You specify a negative condition in the Condition box. A negative condition is a condition that contains the word "not." Examples of negative conditions are "Does Not Contain" and "Does Not Equal."
  • You type or you select multiple values in the Value box.
In this scenario, the Advanced Find feature does not correctly filter the data. For example, if you use the Does Not Contain condition to search for contacts whose names do not contain the string xxxxxx, contacts whose names do contain the string xxxxxx are incorrectly returned in the search results.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
