How to use the floating In-place Input Panel icon on Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 (885500)

• The Input Panel is not docked at the top or bottom of the screen.
• The In-place Input Panel icon is turned on in the Tablet PC Input Panel options dialog box settings.

Input Panel operations

Undock the Input Panel

Enable the floating In-Place Input Panel option

1. To open the Input Panel, tap the Tablet PC Input Panel taskbar button.
2. Tap Tools and Options.
3. Tap Options.
4. Tap to select the Show Input Panel next to the text entry area when possible check box.
5. Tap OK.

Verify that the Tabtip.exe process is running

1. To open the Task Manager, press down and hold the CTRL, ALT, and DEL keys.
2. Look for Taptip.exe.
3. If it is not there, start the TIP by tapping the taskbar icon or by using the Start Input Panel gesture.
