FIX: Bob deinterlacing does not work with the Video Mixer Renderer 9 (885354)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft DirectX 9.1 Software Development Kit Update

SYMPTOMS

When some video cards use a bob deinterlacing algorithm, video that the Video Mixer Renderer 9 (VMR9) has rendered may not play back correctly. Sometimes, the user may notice high CPU utilization when this problem occurs. Also, the program that is playing back the content may quit unexpectedly (crash).

CAUSE

This problem occurs because presentation times are not correctly assigned to samples when the video card deinterlaces content by using the bob deinterlacing algorithm.
