INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to send an Event Data Recorder (EDR) error report to Live Meeting technical support in Microsoft Office Live Meeting version 4.4 and Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2003.

Live Meeting incorporates an EDR error report that captures error report data, and then sends that data to Microsoft through the Internet. EDR error report data is used to assess and correct errors or problems that may occur during the use of the Live Meeting service. The following list describes some of the EDR error report data that is captured.

Note This list does not describe all the EDR error report data that can be captured.
  • Problems that you may experience when you upload slides.
  • Problems that you may experience with connectivity.
  • Problems that you may experience with the Live Meeting console.
To send an EDR error report to technical support in Live Meeting 2003, follow these steps:
  1. Log on to Live Meeting 2003.
  2. On the Help menu, click About Microsoft Office Live Meeting.
  3. Click Send Configuration to Technical Support.
  4. In the Event Data Recorder dialog box, type your name and your contact information in the Please enter your name and how we may contact you box.
  5. Type the problem that you experienced in the Please describe any problems you encountered box, and then click Click here to send report.
  6. Write down the EDR number that appears in the confirmation report. For example, write down "c3c5y5r."
  7. Submit a support request with the EDR number, your contact information, and the description of the problem to the following Web site:
To send an EDR error report to technical support in Live Meeting version 4.4, follow these steps:
  1. Log on to Live Meeting version 4.4.
  2. In the Live Meeting console, click Enter Meeting.
  3. On the Enter Meeting page, click the link that is similar to the following:

  4. In the PlaceWare Event Data Recorder dialog box, click Access Event Data Logs.

    Note Click to select the Include slide uploader archive check box if you experience a problem when you upload slides.
  5. Click Send to Technical Support.
  6. Type your name and your contact information in the Please enter you name, email, phone, and any other contact information box, type the problem that you experienced in the Please enter any information you can provide about what went wrong box, and then click Send.
  7. Write down the EDR number that appears in the confirmation report. For example, write down "c3c5y5r."
  8. Click OK.
  9. Submit a support request with the EDR number, your contact information, and the description of the problem to the following Web site:
