INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to connect to the audio component of a Microsoft Office Live Meeting Web conference. The way that you connect to the audio component depends on how your meeting was organized. Typically, the meeting organizer provides the meeting information beforehand in your meeting e-mail invitation, and the audio information is displayed in the Live Meeting console.

MORE INFORMATION

The audio component of a Live Meeting Web conference is provided by using one of the following methods.

Conference call

A conference call requires that you have an additional telephone line if you are using a dial-up Internet connection. You can connect to the conference call by dialing the conference call telephone number as soon as your browser connects to the Live Meeting Web conference.

Streaming audio

Some Web conferences offer streaming audio that requires the installation of a third-party plug-in. After your browser connects to the Live Meeting Web conference, you can click a button on the left side of the Live Meeting console to install the third-party plug-in and to connect to the streaming audio broadcast of the Web conference.

Note Live Meeting provides only the Web conferencing program to the company that invited you to the Web conference. It is the company's responsibility to set up the audio component for its Live Meeting Web conference. You must contact the company directly for any questions that you may have about the audio component of the Web conference that you are trying to attend.

To contact the host company, the meeting presenter, or the meeting organizer, use one of the following methods:
  • If you received an e-mail invitation, you can reply to the invitation to report a problem with the audio component of the Web conference.
  • Use the chat feature or Question for presenter feature in the Live Meeting console to report a problem with the audio component of the Web conference.
