INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to show Web pages or live program demonstrations during a Live Meeting session. You can show these pages or these program demonstrations to your meeting attendees from your computer. Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2003 provides three tools that you can use to do this:
  • Sharing slides
  • Web slides
  • Snapshot slides

MORE INFORMATION

Sharing slides

When you use Sharing slides, you can share your desktop or a program while you work on your computer. You have three options with Sharing slides:
  • You can share your whole desktop.
  • You can share a specific program.
  • You can use the sharing frame feature of Live Meeting.

When you share a program, you can share control of the program with an attendee.

Note You can share control of the program with an attendee if the following conditions are true:
  • You purchased the ability to give control to an attendee as part of your Live Meeting service.
  • The person who schedules the meeting enables the Application Sharing feature.
If the Application Sharing feature is not enabled, the Give Control button does not appear when you share a program.

To insert a Sharing slide into your meeting, follow these steps:
  1. On the Insert menu, click Sharing slide.
  2. In the Sharing Setup dialog box, click one of the following options:
    • The "sharing frame"
    • The entire desktop
    • A specific application
  3. Click OK.
  4. In the Sharing dialog box, click the Start Sharing button. The attendees will see the frame, the desktop, or the program that you selected.
For more information about how to set meeting options, see the "Scheduling Meetings" topic in the "Scheduling Resources" section of the following Microsoft Web site:

Web slides

Web slides show live, active Web pages by sharing a URL with your meeting attendees. When the URL is shared, the attendees' browsers will display the same Web page. The attendees are then free to click the links in the live Web page. Because the Web page is live, your attendees can click wherever they choose and do whatever they want. You can bring them back to the Conference Center meeting when you click the next slide in the presentation. You can create Web slides before the meeting, or you can create them during your presentation. If you want to control what your attendees see and do on the Web page, use a Sharing slide to show them a view of your browser pointing to the correct page.

To insert a Web Slide into your meeting, follow these steps:
  1. On the Insert menu, click Web Slide.
  2. In the New Web Slide dialog box, type or paste the URL of the Web page that you want the attendees to visit.
  3. Click OK. The attendees will see the Web page that you selected.

Snapshot slides

Snapshot slides show a screen capture from your computer. You can create a Snapshot slide before your presentation or during your presentation. For example, you might want to capture a static image of a Web page or of your program.

To insert a Snapshot slide into your meeting, follow these steps:
  1. In the Presentation panel, click the slide that you want to insert the new Snapshot slide after.
  2. Start the program that you want to capture as a snapshot.
  3. On the Insert menu, click Snapshot slide. The Snapshot frame appears.
  4. Locate the section of the program window that you want to capture, and then drag the frame to position it. To change the size of the Snapshot frame, drag the corners of the frame.
  5. Click Snap. The slide is inserted into the slide set, and the Snapshot slide appears in the Presenter console pane. The first Snapshot slide that you create is named Snapshot A. The second Snapshot slide will be named Snapshot B.
  6. To create more Snapshot slides, repeat steps 4 through 5.
  7. When you have finished, click Close on the Snapshot frame.
Note The Snapshot slide that you create has the same pixel resolution as your screen display. The file size for this kind of slide may be much larger than a typical uploaded slide. Therefore, the slide may slowly load during the meeting, especially for attendees who use a slow connection.
