You may receive Stop error 0x96 in Windows 2000 Server (884587)

SYMPTOMS

Microsoft Windows 2000 may stop unexpectedly, and you may receive Stop error 0x96.

CAUSE

You receive this Stop error because of a problem in the SMB Service redirector driver Mrxsmb.sys.

RESOLUTION
