You see the sponsor server name instead of the sub-domain name when you administer an HIS 2004 computer remotely (884489)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004
SYMPTOMSWhen you administer a Microsoft Host Integration Server (HIS) 2004 computer remotely, SNA Manager displays the sponsor server name instead of the sub-domain name. This behavior occurs even if the user has Administrator permissions on the HIS computer. This behavior does not affect any run-time operations.CAUSE This behavior occurs because the sub-domain name is stored in the registry on the sponsor computer. If the user is not a local administrator on the HIS computer that is being administered, the user cannot see the sub-domain name. Because a connection to the registry is required to obtain the sub-domain name, the sponsor name is displayed instead of the sub-domain name.STATUS
This behavior is by design.
