SYMPTOMS

When you have the French language, Canadian or French dialects, selected as your default input language in the Regional and Language Settings, not all the keyboard shortcuts that are specified in Help work as expected in Microsoft Office 2003 programs. Additionally, when you try to use some of the keyboard shortcuts in Microsoft Office Excel 2003, you receive one of the following error messages:
Cannot show outline symbols because no outline exits on the active worksheet.
Create an outline? No cells were found.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the keyboard layouts are different under the French language, Canadian or French dialects, from the standard English (U.S.) keyboard layout.
