INTRODUCTION

This article discusses the error codes that are returned from the SeaChange Video on Demand (VOD) library. The SeaChange VOD library is embedded in the Microsoft TV Interactive Programming Guide (IPG) and the Microsoft TV Foundation Edition (FE) client applications.

Note IPG and FE are compatible with the SeaChange A17 library.

The following error codes are returned from the SeaChange VOD library to Microsoft TV IPG and FE client applications:
  • CL-14
    Client Error: Failed to contact the On-Demand server. Ensure that your cable is securely fastened to your cable box. Please call PHONE1 for assistance if the problem persists. Reference (CL-14) when calling.
    This error occurs when a socket read/write failure occurs. This error can occur when the cable is unplugged.
  • CL-15
    Client Error: Failed to contact the On-Demand server. Please call PHONE1 for assistance. Reference (CL-15) when calling.
    This error occurs whenever a host name lookup fails.
  • CL-17
    Client Error: Failed to contact the On-Demand server. Please try again momentarily. If this problem persists please call PHONE1. Reference (CL-17) when calling.
    This error occurs whenever no instances are available in the server list file to service the particular request.
Note PHONE1 is the phone number of the cable operator.
